DUO DUO ZHUANG RECEIVES PORTRAIT COMMISSION People are so different! different color, race, age, sex, occupation...and so on. I have to paint different people in different way — different tone, different brush stroke, different composition, different size ..., to show peopel’s character. And I would like and I'm able to paint after people's wishes. Following are some examples.

DANISH QUEEN 1992 by Duo Duo zhuang A noble woman, friendly, talented and beautiful. I used delicate brush stroke, in soft green tone. I painted her transparent eyes. Painted after my impression of the queen from public events, TV and several photographes.

GRAND MOTHER 1987 by Duo Duo zhuang A toltally different woman from Danish Queen. She was an old woman from poor countryside in China, had had hard life. I used rough brush stroke and thick colour to show her dark and wrinkly face. I painted after my skatches and photographes.

KIM SJØGREN’S SON 2007 by Duo Duo zhuang This boy is my violin teacher’s lovely son. I met him several times, but he couldn’t sit still. His parents shown me some photographes of him, and I also took some photographes . I used simpel brush stroke which also can show child’s tenderness. One brush stroke may contains several things: the color’s nuance, the structure of the face... but it needs many year’s practice. But often, by coincidence, after made a brush stroke, an unexpected wondeful results happend, so I just kept it.

DIRECTOR 1993 by Duo Duo zhuang A characteristic man. It was a secret commission as a surprise birthday’s gift to the director of a shipping company. So I was forbited to contact him. The company shown me some photographes of him. But it’s difficult to me to paint a portrait just after photographes. At last, I was permited to take a look at him oudside the window of his office without his notice. He was temperamental, I felt. I was told that the sail was his hobby. I used moving brush stroke, painted him standing at the boat, oblique horizon as background, as if he carried his company sailing forward.

PETER NAUR 2014 by Duo Duo zhuang World famouse scientist. He is special, very musical, plays flute, I see him often. Peopel said that I painted his soul. But how to paint peopels soul? I don’t know, I just paint what I see, and that I feel. This picture painted by photographes.

She was a student of ceramic at the Fine Art academy in Denmark where I went at the same time. I was fascinated by her long hair. So I chosen this long form of cavas to emphasize the long hair. Oh, there are so many vertical lines in the picture, so I painted some flowers to break the vertical lines, it made me comfortable. Painted by photographes whitch I took.
